Vincenzo

We first met little Vincenzo at a special 6am Yappy Hour filmed by WPIX for broadcast across the tri-state area. He had just arrived from Alabama with Husky House, wearing a tiny “Adopt Me” vest. But Vincenzo was so shy that he went unnoticed. He returned three more times, and still no one stepped forward.

Our manager Debbie finally took him home. A vet visit revealed he was infested with parasites and near death. It took over a year of care before he was truly well. Once recovered, Vincenzo became a gentle, loving presence at Yappy Hour, greeting everyone with quiet warmth.

He was named after our good friend Vinny Pastore (The Sopranos), who has generously sponsored many benefits for Asbury Boardwalk Rescue.

Tragically, at just two and a half years old, Vincenzo was diagnosed with pelvic cancer. He passed away three months later, leaving us heartbroken but forever inspired by his courage and resilience. His spirit lives on in every dog we save.
